Moroccan bank Credit du Maroc and real estate investment management company Ynexis Group have finalized a deal to jointly own real estate company Nema Capital, the bank said.
Under the agreement, each company now holds a 50% stake in Nema Capital after receiving regulatory approvals, creating an equal ownership and governance structure.
Nema Capital manages collective real estate investment vehicles similar to real estate investment funds or REITs – Real Estate Investment Trusts – in other markets. These vehicles allow investors to pool capital to invest in income-producing property under a regulated framework.
Credit du Maroc said the partnership will combine banking expertise with real estate investment know-how to expand Nema Capital’s business. The deal supports the bank’s strategy of growing its asset-management and investment services, without changing its core retail and corporate banking activities.
