Iberdrola Spain, Iberdrola’s subsidiary in the country, and Burger King® have signed a new long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for 34 MW of photovoltaic energy, which now stands at 109 MW to cover the annual demand of more than 900 restaurants in Spain.
This new agreement will enable Iberdrola Spain to supply the restaurant chain with a total of 1,900 gigawatt hours (GWh) of photovoltaic energy, thus helping to accelerate Burger King®’s progress towards using renewable energies that enable it to increase its energy security.
Iberdrola has extensive experience in PPAs. The company manages power purchase agreements in Spain, Portugal, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, Brazil, Mexico and Australia for onshore and offshore wind and photovoltaic projects.
