Morocco’s U-17 national team won the Union of North African Football (UNAF) Tournament title on Sunday after a 3–1 win over host Libya at Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi, finishing the competition unbeaten with four wins in four matches.
Morocco took control from the opening minutes and set the tempo early. Adnan El Boujjoufi scored in the 2nd minute, giving his team a quick lead and disrupting Libya’s defensive setup.
The Atlas Cubs’ coach, Tiago Lima Pereira, rotated his squad and gave playing time to several players who had not featured much in earlier matches. The changes did not affect the team’s rhythm.
Adam Boughazir doubled the lead just before halftime with a goal in the 45th minute. Morocco maintained high pressure after the break. El Boujjoufi added his second goal in the 55th minute, extending the gap to 3–0.
Libya pulled one goal back later in the match, but Morocco kept control and saw out the game comfortably.
The tournament, held in Libya, brought together U-17 teams from across North Africa and served as a qualifier for the Africa Cup of Nations. Morocco dominated the campaign from start to finish.
The team beat Tunisia 2–0, Algeria 3–0, Egypt 2–1, and Libya 3–1. The results reflect a balanced squad with strong attacking output and consistent defensive discipline.
