Moroccan international hopeful Ayyoub Bouaddi said he was “very proud” to have chosen Morocco’s national football team over France at the international level, describing the decision as one made with conviction and emotion.
The 18-year-old LOSC Lille midfielder spoke in a video posted on the national team’s social media platforms after he publicly announced his commitment to the Atlas Lions.
“I made my choice, and I’m very proud of it. Everything is perfect here,” Bouaddi said.
“A big thank you to the Moroccan people for your incredibly warm welcome.”
Bouaddi also commended Morocco’s football infrastructure, saying the facilities available to the national team rival those of the world’s leading football nations.
“I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing quality of the facilities. Very few national teams in the world can compete at this level,” he said.
“I hope we will achieve great things together.”
Bouaddi is considered one of the most promising young midfielders in European football after he rapidly rose through the ranks at Lille thanks to his technical ability, composure, and maturity on the ball.
