Mining company OLAH Palace Trading has reported the discovery of gold deposits in quartz veins at its project site in Guelmim, southern Morocco, according to African Mining Market.
The specialized outlet said exploration work carried out by Bakr Khadira identified 34 hydrothermal quartz veins trending northwest–southeast across the license area. The structures extend beyond 100 meters deep, with surface widths ranging from 40 centimeters to 1.5 meters.
Samples taken from trenches and drill holes returned grades between 6 grams per ton and 30 grams per ton, pointing to what the company described as strong potential for commercial exploitation.
Analysts noted the project’s favorable location atop the historic Draa river system, once known for its gold-rich sediments extending from Algeria through Mauritania.
