KUWAIT CITY, Aug 24: Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) achieved an unprecedented increase in profits, recording consolidated profits of KD 2.155 billion for the 2025/2026 fiscal year, which ended on March 31. An oil expert attributed the historic increase to four key pillars. The first was the significant efforts to eliminate financial waste, which played a crucial role in maximizing profits. KPC managed to control spending by increasing operational efficiency, strengthening governance, and redirecting financial resources toward higher-yielding investments. The second pillar was KPC’s strong operational position in strategic global markets.
The corporation ranked among Europe’s leading jet fuel exporters in 2025. Revenues from Kuwaiti diesel sales represented the third pillar supporting the budget, as KPC successfully strengthened the position of Kuwaiti diesel as the fourth-largest source of gas oil supplied to Europe. The fourth pillar reflects the flexibility of commercial decision-making, granting KPC’s commercial management authority to adjust shipping routes and redirect tanker unloading operations to promising markets in the United States and Africa in response to customer demand and to capitalize on market opportunities.
This move resulted in significant price increases, supported by advanced logistical capabilities that facilitated the smooth rerouting of the fleet. According to a recent KPC report, the operational efficiency of the Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) has served as a safeguard for energy flows and a key factor in reducing operating expenses despite successive geopolitical crises and security tensions. The national tanker fleet continued its voyages safely and without interruption, achieving significant time and financial savings by reducing voyage times, which led to a sharp decrease in shipping and insurance costs. KPC’s successes extended to its regional presence through strong participation in major commercial tenders, culminating in its first-ever win of a QatarEnergy tender to supply jet fuel, outperforming major international companies. This victory helped open direct supply channels and new sales opportunities in the Arabian Gulf, strengthening KPC’s position as a reliable logistics and industrial partner.
