In a significant move to enhance cultural and linguistic understanding, Chinese-language instruction is now being integrated into schools throughout Saudi Arabia. Aimed at primary and middle school students, this initiative is part of an educational agreement established between Saudi Arabia and China. Currently, 175 educators are teaching Mandarin across the Kingdom.
This program is designed to enrich young students’ prospects, offering them better opportunities for employment and further studies at renowned Chinese universities. Hanan Alharbi, a mother from Riyadh, expressed her optimism about the initiative, emphasizing its role in promoting global culture and equipping students with practical language skills, particularly since the instructors are native Chinese speakers.
The introduction of Mandarin education aligns with China’s increasing significance in the global economy and the flourishing trade relationships between the two nations.
