Moroccan remittances from abroad have reached a record high of 68.13 billion dirhams by the end of July 2024, reflecting a 3.3% increase compared to the same period last year. The boost in remittances from Moroccans living overseas has slightly impacted the country’s services balance surplus, which now stands at 71.71 billion dirhams.
Strong contributions from the travel sector have continued, with revenues hitting 59.39 billion dirhams, while expenditures in this area amounted to 16.92 billion dirhams.
These trends highlight the significant role that the Moroccan diaspora plays in supporting the local economy.
