Exports in the aeronautics industry soared to MAD 15.34 billion by the end of July 2024, marking a significant 20.3% increase from the same period last year, according to a report from the Foreign Exchange Office.
– This growth is largely driven by a remarkable 32.4% rise in the “assembly” segment, which alone accounted for MAD 10.04 billion.
– Additionally, the Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) sector saw a steady growth of 2.2%, reaching MAD 5.21 billion.
In the automotive sector, exports also experienced an 8.5% boost, totaling MAD 92.75 billion. Key contributors to this increase included:
– A substantial 18.3% growth in the “interior vehicles and seats” category.
– Growth in the “construction” segment at 7.3%.
– An 8.3% rise in the “wiring” category.
Moreover, the “phosphates and derivatives” sector demonstrated a robust performance, with exports climbing by 14.1% to reach MAD 46.16 billion. Noteworthy improvements came from:
– A staggering 49.4% increase in phosphate sales.
– An 11.2% rise in natural and chemical fertilizers.
– A 10.3% increase in phosphoric acid sales.
This collective growth across various sectors highlights the overall resilience and expanding capabilities of the Moroccan export market.
