Egyptian club Al Ahly announced it has signed Moroccan left-back Youssef Belammari from Raja Club Athletic (RCA) to reinforce the team ahead of the resumption of the CAF Champions League. The Cairo-based club said the 27-year-old international has joined on a three-and-a-half-year contract.
Born in Rabat, Belammari came through the youth ranks of Fath Union Sports (FUS Rabat) before moving to RCA during the 2023–2024 summer transfer window. He won both the Botola Pro Inwi title and the Throne Cup with the Casablanca club.
Belammari has also represented Morocco across several categories, including the U20, Olympic, A’, and senior teams. He recently lifted the African Nations Championship (CHAN) cup for Morocco’s locally based squad, playing a key role under Coach Tarik Sektioui, and was also called up by Coach Walid Regragui for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Morocco.
The terms of the deal, including the transfer fee, have not been disclosed.
Al Ahly has already added Belammari to domestic and continental lists, making him eligible to feature immediately in the Egyptian league and the CAF Champions League.
Al Ahly has been drawn in Group B of the CAF Champions League along with Morocco’s AS FAR, Tanzania’s Young Africans, and Algeria’s JS Kabylie.
