Avelo Airlines is shaking up its fleet strategy with a major jet order. On Wednesday, the ultra-low-cost carrier announced a deal for up to 100 Embraer E195-E2s, becoming the first U.S. airline to commit to the new-generation aircraft.
The agreement includes 50 firm orders and purchase rights for 50 more. The list price for the initial batch is $4.4 billion, though large deals typically come with significant discounts.
