IndiGo on Wednesday said it would suspend its new Copenhagen service and scale back flights between Delhi and the UK, as growing airspace disruptions make some long-haul operations harder to sustain.
Indian carriers face a double hit to their international routes. Pakistan’s airspace remains closed to India-registered aircraft, while rising tensions around Iran have led airlines to avoid another key corridor to the West. Together, the two closures are forcing longer detours, higher costs, and difficult decisions on which routes still make sense to operate.
IndiGo said it will suspend flights to Copenhagen from February 17, just months after launching the route. The airline will also reduce frequencies on its UK services.
From February 7, IndiGo will cut flights on the Delhi–Manchester route from five a week to four, and then further reduce to three a week from February 19. This will bring IndiGo’s total connectivity to Manchester down from nine
