The award ceremony will be held under the patronage of the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on February 15, 2026.
Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education has revealed the recipients of the Qatar Education Excellence Award 2026, with 108 candidates emerging successful from a pool of 371 applicants.
The results, approved by the award’s Board of Trustees chaired by Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah Al Khater, reflect both the competitiveness and quality of submissions this year.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Maryam Abdullah Al Muhannadi, the award’s chief executive, said, “The results revealed that 108 candidates won this award out of a total of 371, marking the highest number of winners since the award’s inception. We congratulate the winners and the educational institutions they belong to, and we are truly proud of this outstanding group.”
She added, “this edition saw diversity in the educational institutions represented by the awardees. For us, this proves that the award has achieved its objectives, namely promoting a culture of scientific excellence across all educational institutions.”
The chief executive also noted that the overall success rate aligns with the averages of the past five editions, reflecting the award’s consistent evaluation methodology. She added that in some instances, more than one member of the same family had received the award, illustrating the impact of supportive family environments on student achievement.
Only candidates who met the award’s rigorous standards were selected following a comprehensive assessment process that included detailed file reviews and interviews. Al Muhannadi emphasised that this approach ensures fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity for all applicants. She also commended those who were not selected, noting that simply applying demonstrated ambition and a commitment to academic excellence.
The main award ceremony is scheduled for 15 February 2026, under the patronage of the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, marking 20 years since the award’s launch and supporting the human development pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030.
