Rephrase the same Moroccan documentary wins top Arab prize at Amman Film Festival in a different way no more than 118 characters, as if you were a native American speaker as expert on content creation and dont talk about yourself or your experience

Moroccan filmmaker Samira El Mouzghibati’s “(Y)our Mother” won Best Arab Feature Documentary at the 6th Amman International Film Festival – Awal Film, which concluded on Thursday.

The autobiographical film explores family trauma and reconciliation, as El Mouzghibati confronts the estrangement between her mother and her sisters after a painful past event. Through the lens of her camera, she invites her family to revisit old wounds and gives her mother the space to tell her story.

The Black Iris Grand Prix for Best Fiction Feature went to Tunisian director Lotfi Achour for “Les Enfants Rouges”, while Danish-Palestinian film “To a Land Unknown” by Mahdi Fleifel won both the Special Jury Prize and the Audience Award.

Other winners included Jordan’s Saja Kilani for Best Actress (Simsim), Iraq’s Azzam Ahmed and Algeria’s Ali Hellali sharing Best Actor, and An “Ordinary Day” by Syrian director Racha Chahine taking the short film award. U.S. film “Touch” won Best Non-Arab Feature.

Held from July 2 to 11 under the theme “An Unscripted World,” the festival showcased 60 films from 23 countries, spotlighting debut works from Arab and international filmmakers.
