Morocco’s U-17 national team advanced to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Côte d’Ivoire 4–3 on penalties on Monday at El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia. The match had ended in a goalless draw after regular time.
The young Atlas Lions dominated much of the first half, creating several chances, including one that nearly broke the deadlock. Despite their possession, the half closed without goals, with coach Nabil Baha’s squad unable to convert.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Morocco pressing but failing to find the net, sending the match straight to penalties.
In the shootout, Morocco held their nerve to edge out Côte d’Ivoire and book a place in the final, where they will face Mali. The West African side advanced earlier in the day after a 2–0 win over Burkina Faso.
