Morocco’s largest healthcare group, Akdital, is expanding its presence in Saudi Arabia with a planned acquisition of Bishri Hospital in Mecca, the company announced in a LinkedIn post on Friday.
Akdital said it has signed a memorandum of understanding to acquire 100% of the hospital, subject to regulatory and operational approvals. The facility, located in central Mecca, is operational and has a capacity of 120 beds, offering services including cardiology, surgery, intensive care, and radiology.
The move follows Akdital’s earlier acquisition of Al Mishari Hospital in Riyadh.
Founded in 2011, Akdital operates 41 hospitals and clinics across Morocco. The company went public in December 2022 and has since become one of the 20 most valuable companies on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
