Raja Casablanca has taken a historic step toward full professionalization by signing a strategic investment agreement with the port operator Marsa Maroc, becoming the first Moroccan club to formally initiate its transition into a sports corporation.
The ceremony, held Saturday at the club’s academy, was attended by key figures including Moroccan Football Federation president Fouzi Lekjaa and National League chief Abdessalam Belkchour.
Under the agreement, Marsa Maroc will acquire a 60 percent stake in the club’s new company structure.
Four foundational contracts will define shareholding rules, governance mechanisms, and the relationship between the mother association and the professional entity.
Lekjaa praised the move as a model for Moroccan football’s modernization, declaring Raja a “national and global football reference.”
He emphasized that the growth of clubs like Raja, Wydad, and AS FAR is essential for the health of Moroccan football overall.
