Morocco will rely on tactical flexibility, defensive stability and quick transitions led by Karim Berkaoui as it faces a determined Syrian side on Thursday. Head coach Tarik Sektioui said in a pre match briefing that the national team’s absences “will not prevent us from using our strengths to win,” while acknowledging the challenge ahead.
Sektioui said the staff plans to field the strongest possible lineup to secure a place in the semifinals, adding that exploiting Syria’s weaknesses could ease Morocco’s task. He noted that preparations have gone smoothly, with a squad atmosphere marked by solidarity, discipline and professionalism.
Goalkeeper Salaheddine Chihab said training has been positive ahead of a match against “a solid Syrian team,” adding that players’ determination to reach the semifinals “grows every day.”
The match kicks off at 15:30 GMT+1 at Khalifa Stadium and will air on BeIN Sports HD, MBC 1 and Al Kass
