Uber has introduced a budget-friendly shuttle service to LaGuardia Airport, allowing passengers to travel for just $18 each way. This service, designed to ease the financial burden of rideshare trips to New York’s major airports, operates in 14-passenger vans and departs from three key locations in midtown Manhattan.
Key details about the Uber Shuttle service include:
– Rides can be booked anytime from a week in advance to just five minutes before departure.
– Passengers are allowed one personal item and either a carry-on or checked bag.
– Shuttles run every 30 minutes between 5 a.m. and 10:45 p.m., seven days a week.
– Designated pickup spots are:
– Port Authority Terminal
– Grand Central Terminal
– Penn Station
– Drop-offs are at LaGuardia Terminals B and C.
While LaGuardia already offers its own shuttle services, they may take longer than rideshare options, which can be less familiar to travelers. Uber announced this initiative during a climate-focused event in London, with no current indication of plans for similar services at Newark or JFK airports. The company already operates shuttle services in other countries like Egypt, India, Brazil, and Mexico.
Passengers can book the shuttle via the Uber app, where they’ll receive a QR code ticket and a unique pin for validation by the driver upon arrival. This service offers a practical and economical choice for those traveling to and from LaGuardia.
